To a not so old lady

Dear ...

If I may ask, please define an old lady.

In the process don't use words that refer to age and don't count years. Anyone can do that, but that levels people in a very limiting way.  If we divide people by age, you can put 99% of the world's population in about 100 buckets, one for each year, and I would end up in a bucket with a lot of people I don't have anything in common, and probably you too. The old lady's bucket is full for sure but I don't see you in there.  Let's look for other buckets and find one you fit in.  I see buckets of happy people, intelligent, beautiful, successful and many others - and I see you fitting in several of them.

Let's count how many times in your life you turned around while dancing, how many times you laughed with friends, or laughed alone. How many times you jumped up and down celebrating an accomplishment. How many times you made others happy. If you can tell me a final count, perhaps the old lady's bucket is your place. But if you tell me, and I think you will, that you are not done counting, that you are still dancing, that you still jump up and down, then I say that buckets are not for you. You are active, lively, happy, successful, beautiful and that is what really matters.

Have a wonderful birthday!
